Bhubaneswar, 15 January (H.S.): A cold wave continues to grip Odisha, with temperatures dropping sharply across large parts of the State. The Meteorological Department has said that the prevailing cold conditions are likely to continue for at least the next two days, with no significant change in weather patterns expected until January 17.

G. Udayagiri in Kandhamal district recorded a minimum temperature of 3.7 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, emerging as one of the coldest places in the State. The area remains under severe cold conditions, with officials noting a consistent decline in temperatures over the past two weeks. While there were brief fluctuations earlier, the intensity of the cold has increased markedly in recent days.

The Meteorological Department has also forecast light to moderate fog in 13 districts over the next three days. According to weather officials, the absence of any major change in atmospheric conditions indicates that cold nights and chilly early mornings will persist across Odisha till January 17.
