15 Jan (HS): Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, wished
people a happy Makar Sankranti and Pongal. While some regions marked Makar
Sankranti on Wednesday, many in Uttar Pradesh celebrate it on Thursday.

CM’s post on X, reads as follows: “Heartiest congratulations and best wishes to
everyone on the auspicious occasion of Pongal, dedicated to agricultural
culture, nature conservation, and the hard work of the farmers who provide us
food. May this festival, which carries the message of prosperity and harmony,
fill everyone's life with happiness, peace, joy, and health, this is my prayer.”
In
another post, extended greetings for Makar Sankranti and stated, “Hearty
congratulations and best wishes to all the devotees who took the holy dip in
the Sangam and earned the benefits of virtue on the auspicious occasion of
Makar Sankranti, the sacred festival of folk faith and worship of the Sun God,
the Father of the Universe. May the grace of Lord Bhaskar and the blessings of
Mother Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati remain with everyone forever, this is my
prayer.”
