Pune, 15 Jan (HS):

Glitches in operating Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) were reported in Pune’s

Nehrunagar, and Chinchwad on Thursday morning. The voting in some of the

polling booths could be started immediately, as the EVMs failed to open.

The administration

immediately made fresh voting machines to ensure smooth polling. In some areas arguments

between voters and polling centre officials resulted following voters were not

allowed to carry mobile phones inside the polling booths. Tension prevailed for

some time, but the voters were pacified by the police personnel present at the

polling centres.
