Chennai, 14 January (H.S.) : The thirteenth edition of THE HINDU LIT FOR LIFE, recognized as one of the sharpest literature festivals in the country, is set to return to Chennai on January 17 and 18, 2026.

The two day event will be hosted at the LADY ANDAL SCHOOL premises, bringing together more than 100 acclaimed voices from across the globe. This year’s festival features a diverse program of over 50 sessions, including conversations and workshops designed to celebrate how literature shapes culture, creativity, and public discourse.

The 2026 lineup includes a mix of prominent writers, thinkers, and journalists such as PERUMAL MURUGAN, SHOBHAA DE, KIRAN DESAI, and SHASHI THAROOR, alongside international figures like AC GRAYLING and LAURA SPINNEY.

NIRMALA LAKSHMAN, the Curator of the festival and Chairperson of THE HINDU GROUP, stated that the event continues to prove that literature can transcend the written page to inspire and light up lives.

She emphasized that the festival provides a unique platform for speakers and audiences to exchange ideas through direct engagement. SURESH BALAKRISHNA, the Chief Revenue Officer of THE HINDU GROUP, added that the theme LOVE EVERY BIT OF LIT reflects the belief that literature exists in every aspect of everyday life.

The festival has already expanded its reach through pre-event dialogues in cities like BENGALURU and HYDERABAD. This year’s edition is supported by various partners, including the all new KIA SELTOS as the presenting sponsor, alongside institutions like CHRIST UNIVERSITY and STATE BANK OF INDIA.
