
Moradabad,
11 Jan (HS): A 35-year-old man was discovered slain under a flyover near
Dalpatpur on the Delhi-Lucknow highway in Moradabad district on Sunday,
according to police. Sumit, also known as Bhura, was an inhabitant of
Ganeshghat in the Mundhapande area. He had supposedly gone missing since
Saturday. Passers-by discovered the corpse on Sunday morning and alerted
authorities.
According
to Mundhapande Station House Officer Shailendra Kumar, preliminary
investigations have shown that the victim's neck was cut using a sharp
instrument. Sumit,
according to authorities, lived with his wife Shalini, also known as Priyanka,
and worked at an export plant on Kashipur Road. Shalini notified the police
that Sumit had left home for work about 9.30 a.m. on Saturday but had not
returned, according to the official.
She
filed a complaint against unnamed individuals, claiming that her spouse was
murdered by unknown assailants. The family has denied having any personal
animosity with anyone, he noted. Officials said CCTV video from adjacent
regions is being reviewed, and a police squad is determining if Sumit arrived
at his office on Saturday. The corpse has been submitted for a postmortem
examination, and the exact cause and time of death will be determined after the
report is received, they added.
