Moradabad,

11 Jan (HS): A 35-year-old man was discovered slain under a flyover near

Dalpatpur on the Delhi-Lucknow highway in Moradabad district on Sunday,

according to police. Sumit, also known as Bhura, was an inhabitant of

Ganeshghat in the Mundhapande area. He had supposedly gone missing since

Saturday. Passers-by discovered the corpse on Sunday morning and alerted

authorities.

According

to Mundhapande Station House Officer Shailendra Kumar, preliminary

investigations have shown that the victim's neck was cut using a sharp

instrument. Sumit,

according to authorities, lived with his wife Shalini, also known as Priyanka,

and worked at an export plant on Kashipur Road. Shalini notified the police

that Sumit had left home for work about 9.30 a.m. on Saturday but had not

returned, according to the official.

She

filed a complaint against unnamed individuals, claiming that her spouse was

murdered by unknown assailants. The family has denied having any personal

animosity with anyone, he noted. Officials said CCTV video from adjacent

regions is being reviewed, and a police squad is determining if Sumit arrived

at his office on Saturday. The corpse has been submitted for a postmortem

examination, and the exact cause and time of death will be determined after the

report is received, they added.
