Thane, January 11 (HS): The Navi Mumbai Police’s Anti Narcotics Cell conducted raids at multiple locations to identify foreign nationals residing illegally in the city, an official said on Sunday.

The operation began around 7 am on Friday within the limits of the Kharghar police station. Police teams inspected residential premises in Sector 35F and Sector 30 under the supervision of senior inspectors Sandip Nigde and Avinash Kaldate.

During the checks, six persons, including five Nigerian nationals, were found staying without valid visas. Police also booked two house owners for renting out their properties to foreign nationals without submitting the mandatory ‘C-Form’ on the government portal, as required under the rules.

Further action in the matter is underway.
