11 Jan (HS): Three individuals were killed and another injured after their
motorbikes crashed here, police reported on Sunday. The collision happened on
Saturday night at the Barai Kalyanpur bend in the Awagarh region, with
eyewitnesses reporting that both motorbikes were traveling at high speeds. Due
to the restricted visibility caused by intense fog, the drivers lost control
near the curve, resulting in a head-on crash. According to authorities, the hit
was so strong that all four motorcyclists collapsed on the road. Locals reported
the mishap to authorities, and a team of officers arrived on the scene.
The wounded were transported to
the emergency ward of Veerangana Avantibai Medical College in Etah. Doctors
pronounced Gyan Singh (45), Pradeep (30), and Gaurav (28) dead, while Chhotu
(35) was moved to a higher hospital for treatment, according to Station House
Officer (SHO) Akhilesh Dixit of Awagarh. Police said the bodies had been sent
for a post-mortem examination. Preliminary findings indicate that the accident
was caused by high speed and recklessness, according to the SHO, who added that
an investigation is ongoing.
