Latur, January 11 (HS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has suspended 18 members of its Latur unit for six years over alleged indiscipline and actions said to be affecting the party’s organisational functioning, a local party leader said on Sunday.
Most of the suspended members are reportedly contesting the upcoming Latur Municipal Corporation elections as independent candidates, in violation of party directives.
Elections to 29 municipal corporations across Maharashtra, including Latur, are scheduled to be held on January 15.
