Lal Bahadur Shastri's death, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid
homage to him, underlining his qualities of simplicity, honesty, and
leadership. Yogi Adityanath frequently mentions Shastri's modest origins and
devotion to the nation, comparing current politics with Shastri's sincerity,
such as his renowned Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan slogan and basic clothing.
Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Shastri's native state of Uttar
Pradesh, routinely pays tribute to him, particularly on the anniversaries of
his birth (October 2) and death (January 11). He stresses Shastri's essential
ideals, juxtaposing them with extravagant shows of power, and portrays Shastri
as a figure of genuine service and leadership. CM Yogi Adityanath honors the
memory of the respected former Prime Minister by aligning himself with
Shastri's principles.
