Kamrup (Assam), 11 January (HS): A shocking incident of domestic violence came to light at New Dihina area in Hajo, where a man was allegedly killed by his wife following prolonged family discord, police inform on Sunday.

According to police sources, the deceased has been identified as Damodar Das. His wife, Bhanu Das, allegedly killed him and later surrendered herself at the Hajo Police Station.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Damodar Das had reportedly been subjecting his wife and other family members to continuous abuse for a long time, which is believed to have led to the fatal incident.

Police have registered a case and launched a detailed investigation to ascertain the exact sequence of events leading to the murder.-----------
