Cold Wave Eases Across Odisha as Night Temperatures Rise

Bhubaneswar, 11 January (H.S.): After several days of intense cold, Odisha has begun to experience relief as night temperatures rose across the state, leading to a noticeable decline in the severity of the cold wave.

Residents who had been enduring harsh and uncomfortable winter conditions over the past few days felt a change in the weather from late last night, with a gradual increase in temperatures easing the bone-chilling cold.

According to the Meteorological Department, the moderation in temperatures was anticipated due to the influence of an active deep depression system. Upper-level cloud cover associated with this system had earlier caused fluctuations in temperatures, and the department had forecast that the prevailing conditions would lead to a weakening of the cold spell.

Weather officials further stated that an increase in moisture-laden winds entering the state played a significant role in pushing temperatures upward. The inflow of humid air has helped reduce the impact of the cold wave that had dominated the region in recent days.

As per the latest forecast, dry weather is likely to prevail across Odisha until January 16. No major rainfall activity is expected during this period, and temperatures are projected to remain largely stable, offering continued relief from extreme cold conditions.

However, authorities have advised people to remain cautious during early morning and late night hours, as mild winter conditions may still persist in some areas despite the overall easing of the cold wave.
