Bhubaneswar, 11 January (H.S.): All passengers involved in the recent aircraft accident near Rourkela are safe and in stable condition, with one person kept under close medical observation, according to an official press release issued by the Directorate of Aviation on Sunday morning. The Government of Odisha has launched a coordinated response to ensure timely medical care, safety, and a thorough investigation into the incident.

The press release said that under the overall supervision of the Chief Minister, the Department of Commerce & Transport and the Directorate of Aviation are extending “seamless cooperation and coordination with the Government of India, the district administration, and the concerned airline to ensure a swift, coordinated, and effective response.”

To facilitate the rapid deployment of investigation teams and medical specialists, the State Government has provided comprehensive logistical support. “A State helicopter has been deployed to facilitate the movement of the investigation team and senior doctors to Rourkela,” the release stated. It also said that officers of the Directorate of Aviation are camping in Rourkela and are providing all necessary on-ground support to the district administration.

According to the press release, the Principal Secretary, Commerce & Transport Department, has been entrusted with overall coordination and supervision of the response operations.

On the medical front, the Directorate of Aviation said, “As per the latest health bulletin, all passengers are safe and stable. One passenger remains under close and continuous medical observation.” The release further added that senior specialist doctors from Bhubaneswar are being deputed to Rourkela to provide expert treatment, continued supervision, and monitoring with full support from the State Government.

The Odisha Government has also assured full cooperation with the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) for the ongoing investigation, reiterating its commitment to ensuring the highest standards of safety and prompt medical care for all affected individuals.
