Dehradun, August 4 (HS): Due to ongoing heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami ordered district magistrates to remain onsite with their teams for immediate action. He highlighted the importance of assessing crop damage swiftly and remaining vigilant against waterlogging. In a virtual meeting, the CM instructed prompt clearance of blocked roads and quick repairs of damaged drinking water and electricity lines. He called for alternative rural mobility solutions during route disruptions and pre-emptive planning to prevent waterlogging.

CM Dhami emphasized the immediate evaluation of crop losses and mandated legal action against those fraudulently acquiring identification documents. He urged regular anti-encroachment drives under ‘Operation Kaalnemi’ against misleading activities disguised as religious practices. District magistrates were directed to regularly inspect government hospitals to ensure adequate medicines, medical staff, and cleanliness, with the CM planning surprise inspections.

For post-rain recovery, he stressed accelerating infrastructure development, focusing on the quality of constructions such as roads, bridges, and drainage systems, alongside regular reviews of state and central schemes. He encouraged the preference for indigenous products within government offices and public awareness campaigns supporting ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative.

Additionally, he thanked the State Election Commission and associated personnel for successfully conducting panchayat elections. Senior officials, including Chief Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu, were present during the meeting.
