Guwahati, 04 August (HS): A militant belonging to the banned National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Khaplang faction) — NSCN(K) — was arrested by Sonari police in Assam's Charaideo district.

Acting on a tip-off, Sonari police intercepted a vehicle coming from Nagaland and detained the suspect. The arrested individual has been identified as Akshi Konyak, a resident of Nagaland.

Police said the accused is currently being interrogated at the Sonari police station for further leads.
