Bhubaneswar, 4 August (H.S.): The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Warning for multiple districts in Odisha, forecasting heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning over the next five days, up to August 9.
According to the IMD’s regional centre, the prevailing monsoon trough at mean sea level extending east-northeastwards to the Bay of Bengal is contributing to the intensified weather activity across the state.
In its midday weather bulletin, the IMD reported that Paralakhemundi recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state on Sunday at 36.6°C, while Phulbani registered the lowest minimum temperature at 22.0°C in the plains region.
Authorities have advised residents in the affected districts to remain alert and take necessary precautions as the adverse weather conditions may lead to localized flooding and disruption in daily life.
