Hyderabad, 4 August (H.S.): Heavy rains struck Hyderabad on Monday, providing relief from the heat amidst the monsoon. The rains, accompanied by thunder, led to waterlogging in several areas. Weather enthusiast T Balaji predicted around 50 mm of rainfall in the following hours.

Citizens were advised to stay indoors due to the risks of falling trees, slippery roads, and public transport disruptions, prompting the IMD to issue a yellow alert.

Thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30-40 km/h) are forecasted in the city and suburbs until August 9, with the heaviest rainfall expected on August 8 and 9. Authorities are prepared for potential waterlogging and disruptions, with additional advisories likely if conditions worsen.
