Lucknow, 04 Aug
(HS):Police of
Ghazipur district, Uttar Pradesh took Umar Ansari, son of late mafia Mukhtar
Ansari, into custody from MLA residence at Darulshafa in Hazratganj, Lucknow on
Sunday night and left for Ghazipur. A case of forgery has been registered
against him. Ghazipur SP said that Umar Ansari, the leader of IS 191 gang and
younger son of mafia Mukhtar Ansari, has been arrested from Lucknow on Sunday
night. The court had initiated proceedings to confiscate the property of
Mukhtar Ansari under section (14) of UP Gangster Act.
A petition was filed in
the court to release that property. With the aim of saving the confiscated
property of the family, son Umar, as a part of a well-planned strategy, forged
the signature of his mother Afsha Ansari, who has a bounty of Rs 50,000 on her
head, and submitted it in the court. After the matter came to light, the police
of Muhammadabad police station of Ghazipur registered a case against Umar.
Police brought Umar Ansari in custody from Lucknow to Ghazipur late night.
After questioning him, he will be presented in the court today. It is worth
noting that Mukhtar Ansari's (deceased) wife Afsha is still absconding. There
is a reward of Rs 50,000 on her. Police is searching for her. At the same time,
Mukhtar's elder son Abbas Ansari was recently sentenced to two years by the
court in a case related to Mau. He is on bail, but Abbas's membership of the
Legislative Assembly has been canceled.
