Bhubaneswar, 3 August (H.S.): The Odisha Police have launched an extensive search and rescue operation to locate four fishermen who went missing while venturing into the sea off the coast of Balasore district. This information was officially released by the Odisha Police.
To enhance the operation, the police have deployed three advanced marine boats: a 12-tonne vessel from the Kasafala Marine Police Station and two boats with capacities of 12 tonnes and 5 tonnes from the Balaramgadi Marine Police Station. Additionally, 'Sagar Mitras' from the State Fisheries Department have joined the search efforts.
The Odisha Coastal Security Force is utilizing drones for aerial surveillance to help locate the missing fishermen. Marine police teams began their search operations at sea early this morning.
In response to a request from the Odisha Police, the Indian Coast Guard has also joined the rescue efforts to bolster the mission. Meanwhile, police patrolling along the coastal areas has been intensified, and coordination has been established with marine police units from neighboring states to support the ongoing efforts.
