Kolkata, 3 August (H.S.) As the West Bengal Assembly election approaching, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is set to hold a high-level meeting with party MPs at Nabanna on Monday. Sources said that the agenda will center around the roles and responsibilities of MPs in the upcoming Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha sessions. The Chief Minister may discuss the ongoing Special Summary Revision (SSR) of the electoral rolls.
According to insiders, Diamond Harbour MP Abhishek Banerjee may join Mamata’s meeting virtually.
Notably, Abhishek is scheduled to hold a massive virtual meeting on August 5 with over 4,000 party leaders.
The state government has already launched the “Amar Para, Amar Samadhan” campaign. The Trinamool Congress has ensured that this campaign remains tightly controlled and organized at the grassroots level.
Abhishek’s meeting is expected to deliver key messaging related to this programme. He has summoned all district presidents, MPs, MLAs, mayors, deputy mayors, municipal chairpersons, vice-chairpersons, Zilla Parishad members, and Panchayat Samiti chairpersons to participate in the virtual gathering.
In addition, leaders of the party’s frontal organizations, members of the state’s core committee, and all councillors of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation have also been asked to attend. For Birbhum and North Kolkata, all core committee members have been invited.
