Prayagraj, 03 Aug (HS): The three-day conclave involving
agricultural scientists from SHUATS and government officials from Uttar Pradesh
successfully concluded on Sunday. After a comprehensive review of the
university’s research and development work, the visiting delegation expressed
profound satisfaction with the innovations and their potential to significantly
benefit farmers. Led by Director of Agriculture Dr. Harendra Upadhyay, the team
of officials acknowledged the substantial contributions of SHUATS scientists to
agricultural advancement and farmer welfare. The delegation requested detailed
reports on the work of key departments, including Agronomy, Horticulture,
Agricultural Extension, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Food and Nutrition, Soil
Science, Geospatial Technology and AI, and Agricultural Engineering.
Furthermore, the officials directed the
departments to submit new project proposals that align with the agricultural
development visions of both the state and central governments. They assured the
SHUATS administration of their commitment to presenting the university's
impactful work to the state government and providing full support in securing
approval for new projects. Dr. S. D. McCarty, Director of Research, delivered
the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude for the officials’ guidance and
positive feedback. Professor Dr. Ranu Prasad, Registrar of SHUATS, stated that
the conclave's successful conclusion reinforces the strong partnership between
the state government and SHUATS in fostering agricultural progress.
The valedictory session was attended by Professor
Dr. Bishwaroop Mehra, Pro-VC Administration; .Professor Dr. Ritu Dubey, Pro-VC
PMD; Dr. Praveen Charan, Director of Extension; and Dr. Ramakant Dubey,
Director of Development and PR, along with a large number of SHUATS scientists,
officers, and staff.
