Srinagar, 2 August (H.S.): BJP JK UT president, Sat Sharma today called on Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister, Amit Shah at New Delhi and held a detailed discussion on prevailing situation in the UT of J&K. The two leaders also discussed the organisational matters especially after the constitution of new team of office bearers.

The BJP State president apprised Amit Shah about prevailing political situation in J&K and activities of his party especially in highlighting the various public welfare schemes of Narendra Modi Government among the people in both regions of the J&K.

He informed the Union Minister about the pro active role played by BJP as the main opposition party in the UT by highlighting the genuine issues of the people in Assembly and outside it.

This was the first visit of Sat Sharma to Union Capital after constitution of new party team last month.

Sharma said it was a curtsey call and he congratulated the Union Government including PM and HM as well as Lt Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha for successful conduct of Amarnath Yatra which has sent a very positive signal not only in J&K but across the country. The influx of yatris in large numbers during the holy pilgrimage in the aftermath of Bisaran Pahalgam carnage will help in reviving the tourism industry in the UT and it has allayed the fears of people dealing with tourism trade in J&K that the Pahalgam episode will hit the tourism in the UT badly.

Sharma told Home Minister that the LG administration was working in right direction and with dedication to win over hearts of the people of UT which has faced lot of devastation and destruction due to decades’ long turmoil.

Besides, the important organizational matters concerning the region, the meeting also focused on key developments in Jammu & Kashmir.

During the interaction, Sat Sharma also congratulated the Union Home Minister on the successful culmination of Operation Mahadev, which led to the elimination of the terrorists involved in the heinous Pahalgam attack. He emphasized that the operation marks a significant step forward in the broader Operation Sindoor, aimed at ensuring peace and security in the Union Territory.

He expressed deep appreciation for the continued guidance and firm resolve shown by the Union Home Minister in tackling terrorism and strengthening grassroots governance in J&K.

Sat Sharma told Excelsior that he also invited Amit Shah to visit Jammu & Kashmir in the near future, noting that his presence would inspire the cadre and reinforce the ongoing development and security efforts in the Union Territory. “The guidance of the Union Home Minister will be inspiring and guiding for all besides further boosting the morale of party cadre in the UT”, he added.
