Narendra Modi reached his parliamentary constituency Kashi for the 51st time on

Saturday. With this auspicious number, he gave a big gift to the disabled and

the elderly from Kashi. In a huge public meeting organized in Banauli village

of Sevapuri block, the Prime Minister distributed many devices to ease the

physical challenges of the elderly and the disabled. Various types of free

assistive devices were distributed in the public meeting under the National

Vayoshri and ADIP scheme, so that they do not have to face physical challenges

and become self-reliant.

In the public meeting, ELIMCO CMD Praveen Kumar told

that his company has played an important role in providing devices to the

beneficiaries. Along with this, HUDCO and IDBI Bank have helped under the CSR

scheme. He told that during the public meeting, 7486 assistive devices of 46

types were distributed to 2025 elderly and disabled people. Its cost is about 2

crore 9 lakh rupees. ELIMCO and Varanasi district administration have benefited

the eligible beneficiaries by making a list of them after a survey of about

three months at various places.

Modern motorized

tricycles given to 105 Divyangjans: Modern motorized tricycles were given to

105 Divyangjans in the public meeting. Apart from this, the Prime Minister made

symbolic distribution from the stage. This included modern motorized tricycle

running on lithium iron phosphate battery, sports wheelchair, active folding

wheel chair, high power glasses, programmable hearing aid and Vayoshri kit to

senior citizen beneficiary under Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana. Apart from this,

wheelchair, crutches, smart phone, accessible cane, stick etc. were also

distributed among other equipment.

Beneficiaries

expressed their gratitude to Prime Minister Modi: In the public meeting, the

disabled beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra

Modi. Everyone said that the government is doing many things for the

beneficiaries. When a beneficiary Kamta Prasad got a battery operated wheel

chair, tears came out of his eyes. He said that now he has got the facility to

travel. Now he will not need anyone's support. The amount of disabled pension

has also been increased, for this he is grateful to the government. So much

time has passed, but earlier he was not able to get such facilities as he is

getting now. Beneficiary Rudra said that he has received a motorized tricycle

from Prime Minister Modi. Beneficiary Pramod Kumar also received a motorized

tricycle. Pramod said that he has a shop. The Prime Minister has solved the

problem of commuting with a motorized tricycle. Earlier he was not able to get

such a facility.
