Srinagar, 2 August (H.S.): Family members and relatives of three youth who were killed under mysterious circumstances in May this year and whose dead bodies were found in a nullah in Malhar area of Billawar of Kathua district demanded justice be given to the victims’ families and a CBI or NIA probe be ordered in their death.
Chamial Singh, father of Varun who was among three people who were killed under mysterious circumstances in Malhar in May this year alleged that till date police has failed to file the FIR in this regard. He also questioned that why the probe into the killings was being delayed.
Terming it a plain murder, he appealed Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, Home Minister, Amit Shah and Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha seeking their immediate intervention in the matter and demanded CBI or NIA probe be ordered in the death of his son, brother and brother-in-law.
He said he has been informed by the officials that FSL report has been submitted but the same has not been made available to the families. Demanding speedy investigation into the death of three youth, including his 40 year old brother, Darshan Singh and his brother in law, Yougesh Kumar whose dead bodies were found along with his 14 year old son Varun on fateful day in a Khad, he alleged that the trio were kidnapped and later killed.
Terming the reports ridiculous that they had taken off clothes due to heat, he said there was five degree temperature at that place and how they could feel temperature is hot. These are all concocted stories, he added.
Singh said that the trio had accompanied a Barat on May 5 and while travelling they advanced the marriage party. Later they went missing. Their phones were also switched off. He said though police and army searched them for three days they could not get any clue of them and on May 8 their dead bodies were found in a khad.
Terming it targeted killing, he said militancy is still in the Lohi Malhar area and for last over three decades militants are roaming in that area with the support of some locals.
He said on May 9 the dead bodies were handed over to families and on May 10 their last rites were conducted. The officers and politicians visited the family on May 9 and May 10 and afterwards no one from administration or from Government side tried to contact them.
