Kolkata, 2 August (H.S.) -

In preparation for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections scheduled for next year, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has initiated a digital survey to assess the organisational strength at the booth and district levels. The state unit of the party aims to complete the digital mapping within the next two months, with a special focus on strengthening its booth-level presence.

According to party sources, the primary objective of this digital exercise is to verify that every booth committee member is a registered voter in the same booth. As part of the verification process, booth committee members are required to upload scanned copies of both sides of their Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) to a centralised server managed by the state leadership.

Prior to the digital survey, the BJP had conducted an on-ground physical assessment, in which senior leaders visited districts and reviewed grassroots-level organisational structures. The ongoing digital initiative is intended to identify gaps that may have been overlooked during the initial phase.

To facilitate the smooth execution of the survey, the party has scheduled a training workshop for field-level workers involved in the process on August 4. The session will outline technical procedures and standard operating protocols to ensure accurate data collection and reporting.

A senior member of the BJP state committee stated that preparations for the assembly elections have begun much earlier than in previous years. The party believes that without a robust and precise organisational framework, it would be difficult to challenge the ruling Trinamool Congress effectively. Hence, emphasis is being laid on addressing structural weaknesses well in advance.

To maintain data authenticity, the party leadership will conduct random checks during the digital survey process. This mechanism is designed to detect any discrepancies and ensure that the information collected is reliable and accurate.
