Bijni (Chirang), 02 August (HS): Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya on Saturday inaugurated the newly constructed academic building of the North East Military School at Havaragaon in Bijni, Chirang district.
The building, constructed at a cost of ₹2 crore under the Assam Government's Untied Fund for the financial year 2024–25, marks a significant boost to the school's infrastructure.
Established in 2019, the North East Military School recently received official recognition from the Ministry of Defence’s Sainik Board. Currently, the school has 76 students enrolled from Classes 6 to 12.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by several dignitaries including Bijni MLA Ajay Kumar Roy, school president and former MLA Kamalsing Narzary, Executive President Dr. Ratan Roy, Chief Advisor Dr. Hitesh Bardoloi, BTR Executive Member Dhananjay Basumatary, and Vice President Abhiram Mahanayak.
