New Delhi, August 16 (PIB): Prime Minister Narendra Modi today extended his heartfelt greetings to citizens on the auspicious occasion of Krishna Janmashtami, a festival celebrated with devotion and grandeur across the nation.

In a message shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister wrote:

“Heartfelt greetings to all countrymen on Janmashtami. May this sacred festival of faith, joy, and enthusiasm bring renewed energy and inspiration into everyone’s lives. Jai Shri Krishna!”

Krishna Janmashtami, marking the birth of Lord Krishna, is being celebrated nationwide with midnight rituals, devotional singing, Dahi Handi festivities, and temple decorations. From Mathura—the birthplace of Lord Krishna—to Vrindavan and across the country, temples have been beautifully adorned, with lakhs of devotees participating in midnight aartis, bhajans, and cultural programs.
