From Cloud Particles to Cold Cash: ED Busts Multi-Crore VueNow Scam

Chandigarh, August 15 (HS): In a major crackdown on an alleged money laundering racket, the Enforcement Directorate’s Jalandhar branch raided multiple premises across Punjab, Haryana, and Maharashtra, unearthing assets worth over ₹73 crore. The searches, conducted on Thursday, targeted ten residential and commercial locations connected to the VueNow Group of Companies.

According to an official ED statement issued on Friday, the operation was part of an ongoing investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002. The raids focused on VueNow Infratech Ltd, its director Rahul Anand Bhargava, and associated entities and individuals.

During the searches, officials seized ₹23.90 lakh in cash, electronic devices, and incriminating documents. The agency also froze shares worth ₹63.49 crore and real estate assets valued at ₹9.99 crore—bringing the total value of seized and frozen assets to ₹73.72 crore.

This is not the first time the group has come under ED’s scanner. In January 2025, the agency had carried out raids at 11 locations in Punjab, Haryana, and Mumbai, covering firms including VueNow Marketing Services and Big Boy Toyz. At that time, several luxury cars and ₹3 lakh in cash were seized.

Investigations have revealed that VueNow Marketing Services Ltd, in collusion with other companies, lured investors with promises of high returns through a purported scheme involving the sale and leaseback of “cloud particles.” However, ED alleges the company lacked any genuine infrastructure to support such a business model, making the operation a front for illicit fund mobilization.

The investigation into the complex financial web of the VueNow Group is ongoing, with more seizures and arrests expected in the coming days.
