Bangalore, 15 August (H.S.) :

As part of the ongoing investigation against Congress MLA Satish Krishna Sail of Karwar constituency in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka is underway. He and many others were convicted by the Bangalore People's Representative Court in the illegal export of iron ore. The Enforcement Directorate conducted a massive search operation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act on 13 and 14 August and seized a huge amount of cash and documents, the Enforcement Directorate said in a statement.

In raids conducted at multiple locations in Karwar, Goa, Mumbai and New Delhi, authorities seized several documents, emails and other important evidence related to the crime.

Meanwhile, ₹ 1.68 crore cash and 6.75 kg gold jewellery were seized.

The Enforcement Directorate said that an amount of Rs 14.13 crore has been seized from bank accounts.
