Bhubaneswar, 30 July (H.S.): Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Tuesday announced that the online portal for the state government’s flagship Subhadra Yojana will reopen after the disbursement of the scheme’s third instalment on August 9, paving the way for fresh applications from eligible women.
Talking to reporters , Parida stated that women aged 21 years and above will be eligible to apply once the portal is reactivated. The government will also initiate a fresh survey to identify nearly two lakh eligible women who were previously excluded from the scheme.
“Some beneficiaries were removed from the scheme after they bought vehicles, owned more than five acres of land, or filed income tax returns after their initial inclusion,” she said. “The new survey will ensure that women in such situations, if otherwise eligible, are reconsidered for inclusion.”
The Deputy CM further informed that a list of around 93,000 women aged above 60 years has been handed over to the Social Security Department, as these individuals will not receive benefits under Subhadra Yojana. “They are instead eligible for state pension schemes,” she added.
The Subhadra Yojana, launched by the Odisha government, aims to provide financial assistance and empowerment to women across the state. The reopening of the portal is expected to enhance outreach and correct earlier exclusions.
