Srinagar, 30 July (H.S.): The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference general secretary and MLA Khanyar Ali Mohammed Sagar, today undertook an extensive tour of the Khawja Bazaar and Mir Masjid areas within the Khanyar constituency to assess on-ground issues and public grievances.
He was accompanied by officials from key departments including the Public Health Engineering (PHE), Urban Environmental Engineering Department (UEED), Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), City Roads Division, NWR and others.
During the visit, Sagar interacted with local residents, took note of pressing civic and infrastructural issues, and directed the concerned departments to adopt a public-oriented approach in addressing them.
Stressing the importance of timely redressal, he emphasized responsiveness, transparency, and accountability in Government service delivery.
He announced the macadamization of several critical roads in the constituency with an allocation of Rs 40 lakhs. He further announced the resumption of the drainage network from Hamambal to Nowhatta, estimated at nearly Rs 1 crore, while addressing long-standing drainage and sanitation concerns.
Sagar also expressed serious concern over the quality and execution of works carried out under the Smart City Project by various departments. He urged for a comprehensive review of these works to ensure they meet the required standards and genuinely benefit the public.
The veteran leader reiterated his commitment to grassroots development and assured the residents that all necessary measures will be taken to enhance civic amenities in the constituency.
