Mumbai, 30 July (HS): The Anti-Narcotics Squad of
Thane Police recovered narcotic drugs worth Rs 4 crore and arrested two people
in this connection from Mumbra. Police are investigating the wider racket
involved in narcotic trafficking.
Based on intelligence information, a delivery boy was
arrested while delivering about two kilogrammes of drugs worth Rs 2 crore. The
delivery boy and the recipient of the parcel were arrested by the police. Those
arrested were identified as delivery boy Irfan Amanullah Sheikh (36), a
resident of Panvel, and Shahrukh Mewashi alias Rizwan (28), a resident of Sheel
Daighar, who has been working as a mechanic. Both the accused were presented in the court,
which remanded them to police custody of four days.
