Mumbai, 30 July (HS): The admissions to the first year B
Pharm and D Pharma will be stopped if the institutions conducting the courses
fail to fulfil all the required parameters. Minister for Higher and Technical
Education Chandrakant Patil issued the warning and directed all the
institutions to remove the deficiencies within a month.
Patil chaired a high-level meeting to review the
preparedness of institutions conducting pharmaceutical sciences programmes approved
between 2022 and 2025. The orders to provide all the mandatory facilities as
per the rules was issued earlier. The facilities include teaching and non-teaching
staff, laboratories, classrooms, a library, hostels, etc. The standards have been
finalised by the Pharmacy Council of India. The institutions causing loss to
the students for want of the facilities, will face action, Patil said. The
government will support the institutions that have fulfilled all the parameters,
he added.
