New Delhi, July 3 (H.S.): Delhi High Court has issued an interim order restricting Baba Ramdev's company, Patanjali Ayurved, from airing misleading or negative advertisements about Dabur Chyawanprash. Justice Mini Pushkarna's bench scheduled the next hearing for July 14 after Dabur India filed a petition alleging that Patanjali's advertisements defamed their product.
Dabur's Advocate, Sandeep Sethi, claimed Patanjali has falsely asserted itself as the sole manufacturer of authentic Ayurvedic Chyawanprash. Despite a prior court summons in December 2024, Patanjali released over 6,000 misleading ads within a week. The petition accuses Patanjali of tarnishing Dabur’s image by labeling its product as ordinary and making inaccurate claims about herb counts. Furthermore, Dabur alleges harmful mercury presence in Patanjali's Chyawanprash.
Previously, the court reprimanded Baba Ramdev for controversial remarks about Rooh Afza, prompting him to promise the removal of related videos.
