Sribhumi (Assam), July 29 (HS): Assam Police deported 20 illegal Bangladeshi nationals who had entered the country through the Barak Valley, evading the Border Security Force (BSF). The arrests were made from various locations across Sribhumi district.
According to Sribhumi Police, the group included men, women, teenagers, and children who had illegally crossed the border into India. The deportation is part of an ongoing crackdown on illegal immigrants in the region.
Confirming the development, Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma stated via Facebook, “We continue to act vigilantly against attempts to alter the state’s demographic structure through illegal immigration. On Monday, Assam Police deported 20 infiltrators from Sribhumi district back to their country, Bangladesh. We are committed to ensuring that no illegal foreign national finds shelter in our state under any circumstances.”
