Kolkata, 23 July (H.S.) Alleging organizational neglect and factionalism, Trinamool Congress MLA from Bharatpur Humayun Kabir has issued an ultimatum to the party leadership, giving them until August 15 to resolve the internal issues. If the situation does not improve by then, he says he will explore “alternative political options.”

In an interview with a news channel on Wednesday, Humayun Kabir stated clearly, “I will wait until August 15. If there is no improvement, I will consider other options. Returning to Congress or BJP is not an option. If needed, I may form a new party. That party will have many Humayun Kabirs.”

Kabir's remarks have put the party under pressure and stirred political speculations.

Kabir also claimed that he has well-wishers not only in Murshidabad but also in the districts like Malda, Uttar Dinajpur, and Nadia.

According to party sources, the TMC had previously issued a stern warning to Kabir to maintain party discipline. However, his fresh remarks have once again put the party leadership in an uncomfortable position.

The big question now is whether a significant political development will unfold after August 15. Is Humayun’s ultimatum merely a pressure tactic, or is he truly preparing to launch a new political party?
