Nadia, 23 July (H.S.) The blood-soaked body of a 36-year-old young man was found in a deserted spot in Teenkata area under Nabadwip Assembly constituency of Nadia district on Wednesday morning. The deceased has been identified as Bishwajit Debnath.

According to the family, he was lured out of the house by a phone call late Tuesday night and was then brutally murdered. The police have launched an investigation into the matter.

Family members said that Bishwajit received a phone call late on Tuesday night and left the house without informing anyone. The next morning, his mutilated body was found in an isolated area of Teenkata. On information, the police from Nabadwip Police Station reached the scene and sent the body for post-mortem.

Bishwajit’s mother, Mrs. Sandhya Rani Debnath, firmly stated, “This was not an accident. It was a planned and brutal murder. My son had deep injuries on his head and severe wounds on various parts of his body. It’s evident that he was beaten to death.”

The family believes that Bishwajit was targeted for a specific reason and a detailed police investigation will reveal the truth behind the crime.

Speaking to the media, Nabadwip Police Station IC Jaleshwar Tiwari confirmed that a murder case has been registered based on the family's complaint and that the police have initiated an investigation.
