Guwahati, 23 July (HS): In a fresh crackdown on drug peddling, police apprehended a man in Dabaka area of Hojai district, police sources informed on Wednesday. The accused, identified as Mehboob Alam, was caught red-handed in Ward No. 5 with 13 vials of drugs in his possession.

According to the local sources, residents had alerted the police about Alam’s suspicious activities. Acting promptly, police launched an operation and arrested him on the spot.

Notably, this isn’t the first time Mehboob Alam has landed in trouble with the law for drug-related offenses. He had previously been arrested on similar charges, making this a repeat offence.
