Delhi, 23 July (H.S.): The probationers of the Indian Defence Estates Service, Military Engineer Services, and Central Water Engineering Service met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on July 23, 2025. The President emphasized the necessity of integrating digital solutions amid rapid technological changes. She urged the Defence Estates Service officers to adopt advancements like Artificial Intelligence, drone surveys, satellite imagery, and blockchain for property records, while also promoting green practices, renewable energy, waste reduction, and water conservation. For the Military Engineer Services, she highlighted the importance of responsible construction and sustainability, encouraging officers to use renewable energy to minimize the carbon footprint and align with the ‘Make in India’ initiative by utilizing indigenous materials.

Addressing the Central Water Engineering Service, she stressed the sustainable development and efficient management of water resources for improved water security and growth, especially with climate changes in mind. She pointed out that the service's engineering solutions would enhance resilience against water crises while contributing to public health, agricultural productivity, and sustainable resource use.
