Prayagraj,
23 July (HS): Once again a complex spine surgery was successfully performed at
Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital. 27-year-old Imran Ali, who was suffering from
wedge compression fracture in D12 vertebrae, was operated on Wednesday under
the supervision of Dr. Sachin Yadav (MS). Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS)
Pedicle Screw Fixation technique was used to stabilize the patient's spine,
which is a major technique of modern spine surgery.
Dr.
Sachin Yadav said, In MIS technique, very small incisions are made as
compared to traditional open surgery, due to which there is less damage to the
muscles, less blood loss and the patient recovers faster. With the help of
fluoroscopy (X-ray imaging), the screw is inserted into the vertebra with
utmost precision. After this, the spine is stabilized by inserting a rod.
This
technique is mainly used for spinal fractures, scoliosis (curvature of the
vertebrae), and degenerative conditions. Through the MIS method, patients
benefit from less pain, less risk and faster recovery compared to traditional
surgery. Principal Professor Dr. V.K. Pandey expressed happiness over this
success and said, This complex surgery performed by our team is a proof
of the high quality facilities available in government medical institutions.
Swaroop Rani Hospital is constantly adopting advanced technologies to provide
the best services to the patients.
