New Delhi, July 23 (H.S.): Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed the Lok Sabha that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bihar has seen significant railway sector development, with budget allocations rising from ₹1,132 crores to ₹10,000 crores. This increase demonstrates the Modi government's dedication to Bihar. Key projects, such as new bridges in Munger and Patna, and the completion of the Kosi bridge initiated by Atal Bihari Vajpayee, have been realized under the NDA government.
Vaishnaw highlighted that the NDA is committed to justice for Bihar. Concerning the Sitamarhi-Shivhar rail line, he stated that the bridge tender over the Bagmati River is complete, with ₹262 crores allocated for land acquisition, and a total of ₹557 crores approved for swift progress. Redevelopment of 98 railway stations has been achieved. Additionally, Bihar now hosts eight Vande Bharat trains, five Amrit Bharat trains, and one Namoh Bharat train, enhancing connectivity to cities like Delhi and Bengaluru.
