New Delhi, July 2 (H.S.): Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari announced the completion of the 66.916 km Greenfield Bandikui Highway, which connects the Delhi-Vadodara Expressway to Jaipur. The ₹2,016 crore project enables a direct, controlled-access route that significantly shortens travel time from Delhi to Jaipur from approximately 3 hours 45 minutes to just 3 hours. This new highway alleviates traffic on NH-48 and NH-21, enhancing road safety and reducing congestion.
It aligns with the Prime Minister's Gati Shakti scheme, fostering infrastructure development. Gadkari highlighted that improved connectivity will promote tourism and increase access to key attractions in Jaipur, such as Amer Fort and Jantar Mantar, thereby stimulating regional economic growth. This project is poised to lower logistics costs, reduce vehicle wear, and improve market access for local farmers, particularly those producing fruits and vegetables, by ensuring seamless delivery to Delhi's consumer market.
