New Delhi, July 2 (H.S.): The Delhi High Court has ordered the Jal Board to investigate and rectify the issue of contaminated drinking water in specific areas on Wednesday. Chief Justice D.K. Upadhyay emphasized the need for clean drinking water for all Delhi residents. The next hearing is scheduled for July 5.

Areas in East Delhi, particularly Plan Vihar, Anand Vihar, and Jagriti Enclave, have reported receiving dirty water mixed with sewage, raising health risks for residents. Despite multiple complaints, the Delhi Jal Board has yet to take action.

The court directed the board to conduct inspections, address water quality issues, and submit a report regarding the color and safety of drinking water. The officials were instructed to perform door-to-door inspections of water supplies and report their findings in court.
