Kingston (Jamaica), July 16(HS): After a humiliating defeat in the Test series against Australia, where the West Indies were bowled out for just 27 runs, Cricket West Indies (CWI) has reacted decisively. An emergency meeting of the cricket strategy committee has been called, inviting cricket legends Sir Clive Lloyd, Sir Vivian Richards, and Brian Lara for their insights. CWI President Dr. Kishore Shallow emphasized the meeting's urgency, aiming to analyze the last Test match and gather feedback from veteran players like Dr. Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Dr. Desmond Haynes, and Ian Bradshaw, who are already committee members.

Former spinner Dinanath Ramnarine criticized the board's management, highlighting issues like arbitrary salaries, biased player selections, and a lack of accountability after significant losses. He pointed out that this failure stems from a flawed system, referencing a prior 100-run defeat to the USA.

Shallow assured that the meeting is intended for meaningful reform, stating the contributions of the invited legends would be essential for shaping a better future for West Indies cricket. While the specifics of the meeting’s logistics remain undisclosed, it may herald important changes for the sport in the region.
