Hyderabad, 1 July (H.S.): Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced on Tuesday that his administration will contact the management of Sigachi Industries Ltd to guarantee that a compensation of Rs 1 crore is provided to the families of those who lost their lives in the explosion at the pharmaceutical facility in Pashamylaram.

Reddy, who went to the explosion site, stated that the death toll increased to 36.

The CM mentioned that individuals with serious injuries will be given Rs 10 lakh, while those who are injured but can return to work after some recovery will receive Rs 5 lakh.

The state government will engage with the company leadership to guarantee that Rs 1 crore compensation is provided to the families of the deceased. “I have given directives that a compensation of Rs 1 Crore will be disbursed from both the government and company sides,” the CM stated.

Additionally, the state government will provide Rs 1 lakh to the families of those who died and Rs 50,000 to the injured to cover any urgent and immediate expenses.

As per details shared by the authorities, the majority of those who died were from Odisha, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Telangana.

At the time of the explosion, there were 143 individuals present, with 56 currently communicating with the authorities. The search continues for the remaining individuals.

Thirty-six individuals have died. Certain individuals are still unaccounted for. He stated, Authorities are gathering data.

Reddy added that the state government and Sigachi will cover the medical costs of the injured.

He claimed that measures would be implemented against those accountable for the regrettable incident.

Subsequently, the CM went to the hospital to see the injured.
