Kamrup (Assam), 4 June (HS): Police have arrested two drug peddlers involved in drug smuggling case from Rangia area of Kamrup (rural) district.

Police said on Wednesday that based on secret information, both the peddlers involved in drug smuggling were arrested near Society Murara flyover during a drive conducted on National Highway No. 27 in Rangia.

During the drive conducted under the leadership of Rangia Police Station Incharge Navjeet Nath, a truck (AS-15S-9741) going from Lumding to Barpeta was seized.

In this case, Hafizuddin, a resident of Raipur, Barpeta and Riyaz Ali, a resident of Simlajhar Mautupur have been arrested. Police have registered an FIR in this regard under the NDPS Act and are interrogating both the arrested peddlers intensively.
