04 June (HS): The kidnapping and rape of a 3-year-old girl in Thana Chilla area
of Banda has created a sensation. The police came into action after the
villagers' anger and road blockade over the girl's disappearance. The joint
police team of Thana Chilla, Palani and SOG took immediate action and arrested
the accused in a police encounter. The accused has been admitted to the
hospital for treatment as he was shot in the leg.
On
Tuesday night, police station Chilla received information that a three-year-old
girl was missing from her home since around 4 pm. On receiving the information,
the police immediately registered a case and formed teams to search for the
girl. During strict interrogation of the suspects, it was revealed that a
person had kidnapped the girl, raped her and left her in the forest.
As
soon as the information was received, the police immediately launched a search
operation and recovered the girl in an injured condition from the forest at
around 2 o'clock in the night. She was immediately admitted to Rani Durgavati
Medical College for treatment, where she is undergoing better treatment.
Superintendent of Police Palash Bansal said that the accused Sunil Nishad son
of Lotan Prasad has been arrested in a police encounter. During the encounter,
the accused was shot in the leg and has been admitted to the district hospital.
The police have also recovered an illegal pistol and cartridges from the
possession of the accused.
As
soon as the news of the girl's disappearance and rape spread, there was a lot
of anger among the villagers. The angry villagers blocked the road and demanded
the recovery of the missing girl. After pressure from the villagers, the police
acted swiftly and succeeded in arresting the accused. During interrogation, the
accused confessed to throwing the girl in the forest after raping her.
