Golaghat (Assam), 4 June (HS): Police have arrested the main accused Jitan Gogoi in the case of murdering and burying a youth in Chulai Valley near Athukda crossing in Khumtai area of Assam. This sensational case came to light on April 28, when suspicion deepened that Chulai Valley owner Minai Gogoi and his family murdered a youth named Kanchha and buried the body in the ground.

Khumtai police detained Jitan Gogoi from Bokakhat area last night. The accused family was absconding since the murder case came to light.

Interestingly, Jitan Gogoi has denied the murder charges in front of the media. He claims that the youth concerned died due to illness.

At present, the police have informed about sending the accused Jitan to judicial custody. The investigation of the case is going on.
