Hooghly, 4 June (H.S.): A person accused of attacking girls with acid-like chemical was caught red handed, mob thrashed and then handed over to the police on Tuesday night in Uttarpara of Hooghly district.

Notably, a few days ago in Uttarpara a girl was attacked with acid-like chemical. The same incident was repeated on Tuesday night. As per information, a chemical was allegedly thrown on a girl in Kanthalbagan market area of Uttarpara on Tuesday night. One accused was caught by the local people. Two more people passing by were beaten up on suspicion of being involved with him. One person is admitted in the hospital in critical condition. The reason for the attack is not yet clear. The police said that the accused has been arrested. Police have advised people to be careful and alert. The police have also asked people not to take the law into their own hands.
