Cooch Behar, 3 June (H.S.): 16 Bangladeshis were arrested on Tuesday in Dinhata of Cooch Behar district. However, the arrested people claimed that they wanted to return to their homes in Bangladesh. That is why they have surrendered. They were arrested from Dinhata Folimari railway station in Dinhata. They were produced in the court. While going to the court, the Bangladeshis told that their homes are in different areas of Kudigram district of Bangladesh.

The arrested people claimed that they were living in different places in Delhi and Haryana for work for many years. During this time they came to know that the police is sending Bangladeshis to their country. Therefore, they surrendered before the police to return home.

Police sources said that 16 Bangladeshis have been arrested, including 6 men and 4 women. There are also 6 children among them. Sources also said that these 16 people were working at various brick kilns in Northeast India for a long time. They chose the route of Dinhata to return to Bangladesh. Meanwhile, the police have arrested them.
