
New Delhi, June 19 (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to India on Thursday after visiting Cyprus, Canada, and Croatia. The trip aimed to fortify strategic partnerships, enhance bilateral relations, and bolster India's global standing. He was welcomed at the Delhi airport by Cabinet members, senior officials, and BJP workers.
In Cyprus, PM Modi met President Nikos Christodoulides, resulting in agreements to boost cooperation in energy, IT, and investment, including a pact to avoid double taxation. In Canada, he discussed trade, education, and security with Prime Minister Mark Carney and highlighted the Indian diaspora's role in India's progress. Agreements on research and environmental protection were also made.
In Croatia, Modi interacted with President Zoran Milanovic and Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, focusing on promoting yoga, Ayurveda, tourism, and defense cooperation. This visit is viewed as a pivotal step in advancing India's 'Act East' and 'Link West' policies, emphasizing India's strengthening global position.
